When I triggered a discussion on Twitter in November about bib shorts Velocio reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying their solution to every women cyclist (and some men too) problem with having to undress to use the toilet when wearing cycling bib shorts. I’m always very happy when I hear about a company thinking about women’s needs when it comes to cycling and so I was keen to give their bib shorts a try. It’s been a few months and I’ve worn them inside on the trainer and out on longer rides. Watch to find out my thoughts on Velocio’s Signature Fly Bib Shorts for women.

When I first started cycling like most I wasn’t a fan of hills, the ones near me in Surrey even scared me a little. However after cycling over three mountain ranges and many hills to get across Canada I found I enjoyed climbing hills on my bike and I now embrace the challenge. Watch the video to find out how to better deal with hills so you can learn to love them too.
Did you know you can rent Brompton bikes all around the UK? I didn’t either until recently and I decided to make the most of it to get a chance to take a new kind of bike for a spin. My first attempt at renting a Brompton on a visit to Manchester failed but there’s a Brompton rental locker (yes they live in lockers) near where I live here in London. So on a beautiful sunny day I went and picked up the Brompton I’d reserved online and headed home with it for the weekend. It turned out to be very handy to have a spare bike in the house because Nathan had a problem with the wheel of his commuter bike. It amazes me there’s a bike out there we can both ride. Check out the video to see what riding a Brompton is all about.
I thought it would be fun to make the Ride With Me style videos a monthly occurrence, a chance to pick a cycling subject, show various cycling routes and answer any questions you may have (feel free to ask questions in the comments below or in the comments of a video I read them all).
On this ride I take you on my longer cycling commute home via Richmond Park in West London and answer the question how I went from cycle commuting to cycling as a sport.
If you saw my previous video you will know I’ve been bike shopping. I managed to narrow down to 3 bikes, then had 2 of them eliminated for various reasons leaving me with the Canyon WMN Endurance AL 8.0 bike as my first choice bike, or so I thought until I went on a test ride at a Canyon weekend in Surrey. Find out what happened:
